Dik Diks!

I love all things birdie! and things on sticks, I also sub to Sew Somerset so when I saw the little birdies(Dik Diks) by Jenni Horne I had to make one!.. There is a pattern available in the mag (Summer 2009)From an original by Betz White. I didn't want to do the exact same thing so I put mine on a swing!
Many trips to the beach were needed for the perches!
The bodies of mine are made from calico, gessoed, stamped with Stazon and coloured with acrylic paints and Stewart Gill metallics, lots of bling added with the BeJeweler!

Oh they are gorgeous - I really love the bird with the big buttons on its wings. You sewed them all by hand - wow

That magazine looks brilliant - what a great pattern
