How to make your own bottle brush trees...
You will need some string or rope... the natural sisal kind, a piece of wire bent in half.
cut the rope or string into lengths...the length determines the width of your tree, pull the fibres apart
fix a hook into the end of a hand drill.
Place the fibres between the wire, place the two ends in a vice... or get someone else to hold the ends in some pliers...hook the looped end and wind the drill
when it's tight the wire will probably snap.. that's OK
Trim any extra wire from the top
Shape the tree with scissors.
The result....
The trees below have been dyed with Dylusions spray inks and then rinsed for a paler effect.
I rolled them in PVA glue and dipped them in Glamour dust...
If you make some leave a link so I can come and see!

Fab tree tutorial Effie, now you can make your own !
Mine still needs dyeing but, until I get round to that ... I've shared this post on my Facebook page so others can see how easy it is [now you've done the hard work of finding out how to make them for us!].
Ingenious! Thank you for the tutorial.
Gaaahhhh!!! I've always wondered if there was a way to do this. You rock! Thanks for sharing. I just found your blog today in a roundabout way. Love it. Cheers!
Fabulous! Thanks for sharing, I have got to try this.
You make such beautiful things. Could you put more pictures?
That's brilliant. Every time I see the bottlebrush trees used in John Lewis' windows I think of your trees.
Thank you for sharing . Brilliant
