..one holiday to another... Halloween! BOO! This was this month's project at the EfemeraInk meeting.

A little spooky house...

Alas!.....I didn't know him at all!

It's amazing what you can find in the £1 store.

Pumpkins...

..I've been sewing... I made a couple of tops.. what's that got to do with pumpkins you ask....
well I used the left overs to make them...

once I started it was hard to stop!

I bought a top in the sales....

to make these sparkly orange ones.

They're easy to make... just a cylinder of fabric, gathered top and bottom, stuffed and then wrapped tightly with string... I love them

Rabbit, Rabbit...

.. Rabbit... What more do you need.... a rabbit and some wheels!

Love him! he's one of a limited edition of four (which are still works in progress)

Let There Be...

... Light...

Halloween lanterns...complete with battery operated tea lights.

Boo!

...Halloween pumpkins...I know it's a little early but when inspiration strikes you just have to go with it.

There's lots of paper pumpkins around, this is my version. I wanted to use the twigs I bought from The Pound Shop, they come on a wire bound roll, I guess they were meant to be edging of some kind.

 Most paper pumpkins have circles folded and glued together, I used double sided paper and only glued the fold, this way you get twice the segments for a fuller look and half the paper and I wanted to put the stick in the middle.

I didn't have a circle die the right size ... so I used a Christmas bauble die. I drew a line across the top to use as guide to place the paper.... the pumpkin needs a flat bottom  to stand.

I didn't want a sharp crease... rather a U shaped fold so I made my own score board with chipboard.. the wider crease is easier to glue to the stick.. and covers the stick all the way around.

To finish.. glue eight folded pieces to the stick... glue a circle to the base, add a die cut flower to the top for the foliage.. curl a strip for the tendrils, add a tag.

I know the paper is only single sided in the photo..... I ran out of DS paper!

How Long.....

...is it since I made an ATC or took part in a swap?..as for the ATCs it must be years ago and I can't remember the last swap, so I'm joining in with a Halloween swap on FaceBook......no I'm not on FB and don't intend to be ( I have enough time wasting things in my life)... I'm doing this through a friend.

All the images are from a Dover clip art CD....

So they're not much more than cut and stick...just about all I can manage at the moment....

Mr Pumpkin Head...

.. remember these?....well one is finished... meet Mr Pumpkin Head..all painted and with his new hat on.His body is made from a circle of old curtain velvet simply gathered, filled with plastic pellets and glued around his neck, you could use rice or beans.

The print is stamped... ink up your stamp, I used Archival ink ,place the stamp face up, place the fabric on top of the stamp and iron with a hot dry iron.... this sets the ink and also embosses the design onto the velvet.Only use rubber stamps not clear ones.

Still got Mr Skeleton to finish...

...Work in progress....paperclay heads, one will be a pumpkin and the other a skeleton... at the moment they're drying out on the radiator.

I have a picture of the finished pieces in my head...time will tell!

It's that time again...The Ribbon Girl colour challenge, this month it's Autumn colours...which to me means Halloweeny orange.The Ribbon Girl is offering the chance to win an orange ribbon  kit and a voucher from LOTV, all you have to do is hop on over and upload your project...simple... it can be anything you like.

 

I made a Kitty Kat.... sometime ago I made a White Rabbit for an Alice in Wonderland swap ( I can't find the post) at the same time I made a kitty... she laid naked on the desk for eons but now she's painted and dressed and ready to party..She's made from calico, stuffed, painted with gesso and then acrylic paint.The calico takes on a lovely leathery feel once it's had a few coats of paint.

Just love those stripy legs! and those little 'pumpkins' are just so cute... they are available from The Ribbon Girl as are all the ribbons, buckle, bell and tulle

Reunited!

...Reunited at last!....
It's very stressful not being in the same place as your stash! I'm easing myself back in crafting mode with nice easy clean stuff! How many of us buy stuff on a whim and never use it? This Halloween Sizzix die looked cute......... it's not really my style but I bought it so thought I better use it! I love this Cricut cartridge ... Printing Press, it is something I use quite often

and you can't go wrong with a bit of glitter, especially if it's real glass glitter.

A bit of bobble trim goes a long way!
The papers are Basic Grey

of the Christmas theme............It's Halloween time!
I don't know about anyone else but sometimes I have a real dilemma when crafting......I'm torn between the nice clean look and the dirty grungy stuff... I suppose Mr Sigmund Freud might have an oppinion on the subject!
Here's my dirty grungy witch...The head and torso is a stamp from Character Constructions, The Mad Tea Party collection

The wings are Artchix...usually available through 3djean

The rest is bits from the trusty bit box.......which seems to expanding at an alarming rate!

What can you do with a polystyrene ring a bit of crepe paper and some Sizzix dies that have sat on a shelf forever ( They seemed a great purchase at the time!)...........

Make a wreath, I can never get these rings covered so they look nice... so this time I've just painted it with acrylic paint... bright green!

I cut lots of rageddy flowers with Flower Layers No2 die.. crepe paper is ideal for this as it's nice and floppy... and cheap! They were pinned on with a punched flower in black flocked card (Doodlebug I think)and a flower shaped sequin.
(Sounds scarily like you know what!)

The Phrase "Sweet with Skull" die was cut and pinned in place. Bats cut with the BatsNo3 die were covered in black glass glitter and glued onto florists wire and poked into the ring

an alternative is Pumpkin Toy....
