More Dik Diks!

As well as gluing and sticking I love collecting old books, sewing books, embroidery books (check out Rebecca Crompton's Modern Design in Embroidery) craft books, in fact anything remotely creative. The bird was created from a book by George Aspden called One Piece of Card published in 1973. I tweaked the template a little to bring it up to date and decorated it with old text book papers. It's this weeks LTDO challenge. There's lots more in the book so no doubt they will feature in a blog near you soon!

Wow! What a fabulous bird. I like your use of old book pages (is 1973 old? I feel ancient LOL).

Your bird is very interesting. Don't know that I've seen one like it since I started reading all the excellent blogs like yours.
Hoping I can print out the template for this bird, any others you might have available. Love the birds, I enjoy making them. Have bird stuff in our mstr.bdrm/bath but seems like I'm always looking for more ideas and ways to use them.
Some of them have migrated to l/r. I do it little by little so hubs doesn't notice. He's pretty tolerant of my makings and changing things at a moment's notice when I see something I like better. Happy Days and thanks for sharing your expertise. Found you thru "An extraordinary Day".

Me love your dik diks you feel free to post as many as you like.

He's stunning, I was 2 when that book came out, does that make me vintage too :) I've never been modern but I think with some tweeking I could live with being vintage hehe. As long as it was more shabby chic rather than dusty old ...

best wishes

Billie :)

This bird is awesome! And just about as awesome is that my local library has a 40 year old book available. It's now on reserve for me. Wooo hoooo!!!
