Look What...

..Santa brought me...a quilting calendar. I've had scrapbooking calendars, cardmaking calendars and origami calendars and always had good intentions of using the pages... did I? no. So this time I'm determined to use it. This is the first full quilt pattern but I just couldn't resist tinkering.


I resized the blocks....


and chose the most odd colours ever!... I'm not keen on this colour combo but decided to treat it as an excercise in discipline and use it anyway .....

and it was hard work, I've learned a few things from this quilt.
Don't use fabrics you don't like
The more seams there are the bigger the possibility your pieces won't match up
Take more time to think things through
Do a little at a time.

I do like the star block so all is not lost!

wow that looks like a lot of work!! not my favourite colour combo either...but it works...and the stars are pretty! :0)
