Sticks And Stones!

how hard is it to find stones with holes in!...Hag stones I think they're called...

A little bit of paper clay and florists wire....
Just got to add some colour...

and a few bits and pieces.....like a pointy hat or a crown....and they may start to look like birds!

Body Parts....

Meant for sugar paste...... but I'm sure I can use it for Paperclay. The bits are drying as I type.

There may be a papier mache cone and a crown involved!... I'm off on a little vacation and stash shopping... be back soon!

All Dressed Up

Remember these paperclay dolls? well one got dressed and one didn't, one lay naked on the desk for months. She has now had her face painted.... I think she looks a little like Miranda!

She is now dressed in a confection of pale aqua and silver gilt.

EfemeraInk....

.....met yesterday (Monday) and we finished our paperclay dolls...we painted faces,

stitched on arms and legs and gave them clothes. I decided mine was going to be a bareback rider in the circus.

compltete with stripy stockings which were painted on. Bits of vintage jewellery and scraps of recycled fabrics made up her outfit.

Rubons make fabulous tattoos!

She hasn't got a name .....all suggestions are welcome!

More Nakedness!

I think I've got the attention span of a goldfish! (no offence to goldfish intended!) always flitting from one idea to another. Sometimes I wish I could just take my time and spend a while on one idea or one project... I do try but twenty minutes later and I'm bored and off on a tangent!
After using paper clay to make the doll I thought "I can make birds with this stuff"

So here he is in all his glorious nakedness .............just waiting for some decoration....that'll be after the quilt..and before that I just have to cut out something... then there was........
Did someone say goldfish?

Hello Dolly

This project has been on the ToDo list forever! She's made in the same way as the bunnies... a body of calico only this time a layer of paperclay is added to mould the head. There's a great class and tips on Cloth Clay Dolls. Prims, the magazine from Somerset Studio is packed with fabulous stuff too. This is still a work in progress ..

She does have pants....... though no attched arms as yet.

I think painting faces may take a little more practice!.. though she's turned out prettier that I thought she would.

once she's finished it's on with the bunnies!
