Between....

...surgical stockings, elasticated waists and a raging tooth infection the mojo is struggling to make an appearance. I have managed however to complete another four prompts from the 52 Photos Challenge over on Scattered Scarlet

Number 13.... certainly not my lucky number this year..

Although buying new shoes is always a pick me up.. not that I can get them on with said surgical stockings!

An inky painty day with Kate Crane.

and you can't beat a nice cup of tea!

Taking It Easy!

.. and recovering from surgery....I didn't expect it to be so boring! and I'm only three days post op.. much more and I'll go stir crazy. I don't usually post much personal stuff here.. in fact I don't usually discuss much anyway... I'm a person of very few words....that's why I just can't get to grips with Art Journaling. I love the art part but hate the wordy stuff, I just can't see the point, I just don't want to share stuff...However
these are a few pages from a workshop with Kate Crane organised by 3djean on the 26th Oct.... I had a great time doing the painty inky business

No words on this one... think I'd run out of steam!

Hopefully I'll be back creating very soon.....

Honestly......

... you couldn't make it up!.. it's VHS v Betamax all over again..The Pogo arrived.. late!..plugged it in and got ready to print.. Pogo won't print from an iPhone...what's that all about!... so I thought I'll E-mail it to myself and print from the lap top....needed a double ended USB lead... didn't have the right lead!... so I'll bluetooth it.... the lap top does't have bluetooth!... by this time I'm losing the will to live!..

E-Mailed to a different lap top and here we are! I hate having my picture taken.. I think I'm 20 years younger and four stone lighter than I really am!.. If anyone recognizes me from this picture then I'm in trouble!... and I've discovered there's a big difference in the forward and back facing cameras on the iPhone... after trying to resize stuff!..

Anyway I've started.. here's my first page...

The second photo is on it's way...If you want to see what 52 photos is all about the hop on over to the Scattered Scarlet blog..

52 Photos....

.....Last year I undertook two year long projects... Julie's month in Numbers and Photo Friday.. and I completed them both!... this year I decided not to commit to anything.. this was fine at the beginning of the year but we're now halfway through the year ..... and I hate to say it but I miss not having a deadline... I work better under a little pressure but don't tell anyone that! So Jean has a plan..a photo a week.... there will be a list posted shortly on the Scattered Scarlet blog. The subjects don't have to followed in any particular order as long as you document one a week. This is how I'm going to document mine... an easel type flip book so here's the instructions.

Chipboard...2 pieces 11x14 cm, 2 pieces 3x11cm....glue to your paper, fold over the edges and glue down.Take a strip of contrast paper and cover the underside...make sure you press well in the gaps..this needs to form a hinge that will fold without tearing the paper.

Cut one more chipboard piece 11x14.. this will be the front cover.. cover both sides. Cut 26 pages 11x14 from cardstock.

Use a BIA, Cinch or book rings to bind...

Decorate your front cover...

I'll decorate each page as I add the photograph... hopefully printed on a Pogo...

I know its halfway through the year but you don't have to start new projects in January.

Crafting In The Country...

It's been a difficult few days  so I thought I'd post something cheerful...Twice a year I head off into the Yorkshire Dales with seven other friends for a weekend of creativity...there's always a debate as to how many times we've been away, what projects we've made and other forgotten facts... So one of the projects this time was a Smash/photo journal type book to record all our doings...

Easier said than done....making the book was easy, remembering days and dates was and still is confusing to say the least. Everyone remembers things differently... me, I have the memory of a goldfish!

Collating photos from seven other people is even worse (especially as I refuse to join FB)

It is a work in progress but
the whole thing makes my head hurt!

What....

...a lovely inky day!... with guess who?..

Kate Crane who else!

I really did try and get out of my comfort zone colour wise... but lets face it  it was never  going to happen.

It's art journaling my style... that is not nuch journaling and just pretty colourful pictures.
Just call me shallow!.....(Julie from Notes on Paper is running a series all about  blogging)
which lead me to this conclusion... it's a great read.

Better...

..late than never! only four days late but it's a very sparse month number wise, I keep forgetting to write stuff down and if I don't write it down then I forget it!

it's a ticket themed page this month.

if you're wondering what it's all about the hop on over to Notes on Paper to find out.

Lazy Blogger

long time no blog... it's been a bit of a week.
These few pictures are from an art journal swap. This is my journal, it goes back and forth between my swap partner and myself, each adding stuff wherever we want... it makes for interesting pages. I've realised that my style is more collage than painty arty stuff ...

Though all my papers are hand painted and inked.

My theme is text.... no surprise there!

Hope to get creative soon.....think my muse has gone walkabout!

Pretty Polly

Two pages for an art journal swap over on UKStampers....The theme for this book is Freedom.

The cityscape stamp is from Hero Arts, the rest is handcoloured papers and a very green parrot cut from The Cage Bird, a question and answer manual!

Month In Numbers

....March....so far I'm keeping up with Julie's Month in Numbers.
The scone thing was funny...see Julie's post for more information.

...carrying around 56 two pound coins to spend at the Harrogate Paper Crafts show caused a few comments.. (though why call it a paper crafts show when there's very little paper to buy I just don't know)...everyone knows I just don't have enough paper!

...Centre Parcs should provide lots of numbers for April....

A Month In Numbers....

...February.. the second installment of Julie's ( Notes on Paper) Month in Numbers.
Treasure trove ..that's what I thought when I saw these white enamelled numbers in the pound shop...two for a pound , even better.
3 & 4

64 pounds spent on fabric stash, some of it to make this
3 the number of nights spent with the offspring!
1 tea towel set alight. 0 exclamation keys on my old Imperial 66 typewriter.

360 pieces of bunting...
14 *****Road ,the house we nearly bought, the least said about that the better!

Shabby....

Chic....that's the theme of a swap journal I'm taking part in. The page is small 31/2"x5". There's only a little stamping and that's on the heart. Ink up your stamp with fabric paint, I used gold. Place your stamp face up, carefully lay your fabric face down on top of the stamp and press with a hot iron. This looks lovely on velvet as it embosses as well as prints.

I hope my recipient likes cats!

A Change....

.....is as good as a rest, it's back to the inky paintyness. EfemeraInk meets on Monday and we are making this fold out book...

Jean is teaching this month so I can sit back and do as I'm told.

....well that's the theory..

I'm making another to use for my Month in Numbers journal.

No idea what I'll put in this one as yet.

The papers are all hand painted sheets that have been hanging around forever, a mixture of acrylic paints, inks and Brusho....I love Brusho!

It's difficult to photograph as it folds out..I'll post the instructions after Monday's meeting

Gordon Bennet!...........

...nearly had heart failure!..thought I'd try the updated blogger editor... big mistake, never fiddle with things you know nothing about. It seems I'm not supported, so easy enough I'll revert back to the old one, or so I thought....it's taken a panic stricken 15 minutes to find the right buttons to press...dear old Blog I thought I'd lost you forever. So here's some nice calming pages from the Bird Journal swap I took part in last year.

I need a cup of tea and a lie down!
