Upcycling...

I've got a craft fair coming up in a few weeks so I've been upcycling vintage doilies and embroidery frames.

                     Anyone remember these lovely flower embellishments from Cosmo Cricket?

The rose is made from giant ric-rac

A Block Of..

.....Wood a bit of wire and a peg!

and some images from this little book..

                                            

Cover your block with the images...twist the wire around the spring of the peg

Cover the peg with paper

Poke a hole in the block and push in the wire

Great for holding photos or memoroabilia or photos.

Just Got....

..To love these little critters...

 and I'd like to say they were my idea but they're not.. I just followed the instructions.... there's a first!

At Last....

It's been a while but I'm back in the land of Blog...
I've been working on this 12x12 inch papier mache frame which will be the next project at the monthly meeting of EfemeraInk

Lots of opportunity to use up all those special bits and bobs.

The letters were cut on a Cricut, painted the Glamour Dust sprinkled on while the paint was wet.

All the vintage images are from Studio Light.

Hearts...

..as prommised, a little snowtex, tinsel, music paper and some Victorian scraps.

 

a few dangly beads.

and a bit of glitter. A sparkly little something to hang on your tree....I'm in Christmas mode so more to follow.

Cutting It....

.. Fine, I've got around four days to get this stitched together. It's cut out, the toile has been done and fitted so it should be fairly straight forward..I'm making the black and white version, it has a V shaped back too.

Wish my waist looked like that... it definitely won't in a size 20!

Though all that fullness hides a multitude of sins!

Getting Ready...

.. There's nothing like being prepared..getting stuff ready for Christmas craft fairs..
I bought this set of tartlet tins from TKMaxx..(love that shop) with the idea of making vintage decorations.

I covered the bottoms of the diamond ones with Snowtex.. a fab product.While it's still wet sprinkle with Glamour Dust for added sparkle.

A cotton ball, tinsel,paper and a few twigs...

and you have a snowman..

The heart shaped tins are a work in progress.

...I'd just like to say Merry Christmas to all of you who have taken the time to visit my little corner of Blogland this past year.. it really is very much appreciated.It's nice to know that there's someone else out there that likes 'stuff'
I'll leave you with pictures of my alternative tree,( I have a regular tree too) I collect vintage Christmas baubles, I've hung them from a 7Gypsies stand.

Among my favourites are the fish... just visible above right, the bell which still rings..

Kittens... Mittens....

...a friend gave me a Maya Road chipboard mitten book, I never got around to making up the book so I've used the pages and made tree decorations. This one used Pion papers and images from 3djean

This one used the very last bits of Make it Merry from October Afternoon.

Christmas trees....

...What a find...in a local charity shop, a whole box of mini  vintage Christmas trees..there's around 60 of them, they measure approx 2 inches high.

and look at the box they came in!...a whole 4d for a Turkish Delight..

Now just have to think of something to do with them!

Vintage?....

...or Retro?.. whichever it is I love it. I love the colours, the clean graphic images,just everything about it. I love how it's cute without being ickky cute.

A friend bought me this Kaisercraft Advent calendar some time ago, it took a while to find a paper range I wanted to use.

 Then I found Make it Merry from October Afternoon... it's an oldie but the number sheet was perfect for the little drawers The sparkly deer came from The Pound Shop..

There were quite a few bits leftover so I made cards..I'm still in clag it all on mode...

 I can't remember where the reindeer stamp came from...

Not Quite....

.....on schedule with the photo thing... my Pogo is on it's way and I wanted to start as I mean to go on.... so in the meantime here's a few cards...I'm still struggling with getting into the crafting zone but I'll get there!

I really need to get some more of these glittery plastic leaves... I love them, they're neither gold nor silver and look very vintage. I got them from someone at a Ross Papercraft show... for the grand some of £1
