Not Another Postcard..

.. no this time it's a piece of Mail Art...waiting to wing it's way to the USA...

The prompt was Birds and eggs....The bird on the front is from a sheet of Jeni Bowlin paper and just coloured in.. a splash of paint a bit of blobby stamping and a few old rub ons..

And there you have it one decorated envelope..

Postcards....

...With a spooky theme....three postcards for various swaps. I love the cat stamp,it's a very old one from a Halloween set from Rusty Pickle..

 

 

The theme for this one was, Teal, Yellow Ochre and Red. not much stamping on this one, it's mainly collage bits from old books.

Playing Catch Up...

Yesterday was a productive day..... caught up with three swaps...
1 Postcard swap with the theme The Colours of Summer. 6x4"

2 Shabby Chic page swap with buttons for a theme. 5x3"

3 Mail Art swap, Coffee Cups and Circles... being in the UK I took a little artistic licence and drew ( drawed... drew?) tea cups! 41/2"x81/2"

Don't know who the recipient is yet hence the blank space.

Lazy Blogger

long time no blog... it's been a bit of a week.
These few pictures are from an art journal swap. This is my journal, it goes back and forth between my swap partner and myself, each adding stuff wherever we want... it makes for interesting pages. I've realised that my style is more collage than painty arty stuff ...

Though all my papers are hand painted and inked.

My theme is text.... no surprise there!

Hope to get creative soon.....think my muse has gone walkabout!

It's That Time Of Year

... when things are comming to an end. This is the the last page for my Bird Journal swap, I'll be sad to see the end of this one, I've really enjoyed it.

But on the bright side there will be something new to start in the new year.

Scrapbooking has taken a back seat for sometime now so in the comming year 3djean and I are going to do Photo Friday... The aim is to take at least 3 pictures every Friday for the next year.. no matter where we are or what we are doing. Feel free to tag along!

... do blue! but this is October's offering for my bird journal swap, the theme was monochrome.

The purple doesn't count..its just the backgound on the scanner!

The theme for the September postcard swap over on UKStampers is Autumn... mine is a combination of handcoloured paper, collage, rub-ons and of course stamping..The swap is open to anyone so just pop over and register and you're ready to go!

I'd never heard of this one.......Red and yellow , catch a fellow! but that's the theme for this postcard swap. Not a colour combination that I would go for but it's good to get out of your comfort zone occasionally.

This is a mixture of new papers, old text book pages, odd stickers, bits of tatty rub-ons, acrylic paint, magazine images and the odd bit of stamping.It has to go in the post 'naked' so it's got a coat of Mod Podge ( There's a shock!)

This started off as a dictionary page that I'd used to wipe the excess paint from my brushes on! There was a lot of white paint so I stamped into it with a Tim Holtz scratches stamp, a bit of green ink, a few rub ons...and the obligatory Zetti stamp

Postcard Swap

I love these postcard swaps....quick and easy and they arrive from all over the place... the theme for this one is arrows.. The little bird has a new home with Craft Addict- Tracy Evans.. if you can E-Mail me your details Tracy then he'll be winging his way as soon as!

There's More.......

This time it's a mini canvas.. it measures 3"x3". There's a mini hanging swap over on UKStampers and this is my offering... inspired again by Christy Tomlinson's class. I never was a Mod Podge girl, it was always far too messy for me., I like the crisp clean look or the totally grungy but I think I've been converted!

She's now running an art journalling class but I'm already doing something of the kind on UKStampers and that's traumatising enough!

Frida

Doesn't it make a difference what you use as a background! This is a Frida themed postcard for a swap. The stamps are from Invoke Arts. I couldn't decide if it looked better on the yellow or the pink.

Either way I hope the recipient likes it.

Journals?

Thanks everyone for your feedback on the new look blog............it's staying for now, until I can get to grips with the techie knowhow to create my own background.
Journalling seems to be flavour of the month.. check out the new challenge on UKStampers. I'm not one for writing stuff so my journalling will be done with images and the odd word or two.....probably very odd!

This is a page for a bird themed art journal swap.............I've come to the conclusion I'm a person of few words! most of which are unrepeatable!

Feeling Blue!

Blue........ a difficult colour for me to use, you won't see a lot of blue here but I persevered ( the first lot went in the bin!) These ATCs are for a swap

Bonjour!

Greetings from Paris........... no I've not been to Paris, this is for a postcard swap over on UKStampers. As usual it's last minute so it was a case of raiding the 'bit box'. I'd done something with this puppet doll stamp for Scattered Scarlet and had a spare image ....... so off she went to Paris!

The lace is dyed with those fab disperse dyes from Kemtex........ I love that stuff!

Colour scheme for this was, pink, turquoise and orange... right up my street!

I just love that Mr Tim's wings die! especially when the pieces are put through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder! The felt border was cut with a Sizzix decrative strip die... cuts perfectly through the felt!

Bunting!

This is for a swap on UKStampers...make one piece of bunting for each of ten people in their chosen colours

The chosen colours for this one were creams, browns and golds.

CD?

I've never been a fan of altered CDs....... mainly because I could never think of anything really different to do with them.... this time was no exception! This is for the September altered swap on UKStampers and I was rapidly running out of time, so it's not very original but I like the image, it's by Postmodern Design.
