Flower Power...

...make your own!...with these stamens, diamante or pearl centers from 3djean and a few punches...
Punch out the flowers, clip to almost the center and use a round ended pen to add a little dimension to the petals.

Layer up the shapes and add the stamens and the centers. I used the stamens as antenna on the butterflies

I think I may add a little more bling to the bunny.. maybe a necklace.

....Little star..I've dug out this old Sizzix 3D star die.. ( Tim Holtz has a newer version ).. and used some  Pion papers from 3DJean

The glittery trim is a cheap garland from The Range, chopped up and coloured blue with alcohol ink.

Taking It Easy!

.. and recovering from surgery....I didn't expect it to be so boring! and I'm only three days post op.. much more and I'll go stir crazy. I don't usually post much personal stuff here.. in fact I don't usually discuss much anyway... I'm a person of very few words....that's why I just can't get to grips with Art Journaling. I love the art part but hate the wordy stuff, I just can't see the point, I just don't want to share stuff...However
these are a few pages from a workshop with Kate Crane organised by 3djean on the 26th Oct.... I had a great time doing the painty inky business

More Tags...

Texture goes a long way...This stuff  from 3djean is great, no more adding colour to gesso or white texture gel, it does what it says on the tin! On this tag I used the Gummy Berry Bear mixed with Tidy Widy.... only because I didn't clean the stencil between colours... how lazy is that but I love the colour. It seems you can mix the colours!

I love houses..

I used a chevron stencil on this tag with the Jelly Bean Green and the Artchix house image sheet. All the work has been done for you with these images... just the thing when you're mojo-less.

52 Photos....

.....Last year I undertook two year long projects... Julie's month in Numbers and Photo Friday.. and I completed them both!... this year I decided not to commit to anything.. this was fine at the beginning of the year but we're now halfway through the year ..... and I hate to say it but I miss not having a deadline... I work better under a little pressure but don't tell anyone that! So Jean has a plan..a photo a week.... there will be a list posted shortly on the Scattered Scarlet blog.The subjects don't have to followed in any particular order as long as you document one a week.This is how I'm going to document mine... an easel type flip book so here's the instructions.

Chipboard...2 pieces 11x14 cm, 2 pieces 3x11cm....glue to your paper, fold over the edges and glue down.Take a strip of contrast paper and cover the underside...make sure you press well in the gaps..this needs to form a hinge that will fold without tearing the paper.

Cut one more chipboard piece 11x14.. this will be the front cover.. cover both sides. Cut 26 pages 11x14 from cardstock.

Use a BIA, Cinch or book rings to bind...

Decorate your front cover...

             I'll decorate each page as I add the photograph... hopefully printed on a Pogo...

I know its halfway through the year but you don't have to start new projects in January.

Hello!

I'm easing my way back into crafting mode....slowly but surely. Health issues still not resolved but trying not to panic and carry on regardless! I spent a lovely afternoon with 3djean and the Ribbon Girl making cards...We got to look in The Ribbon Girl shop!.what lovely stuff!..

 

.I'm in slap it on mode... the more bits the better, the images are from the Grandmas Attic collection from Pion....you can find them here...

 

I love the soft romantic touch of colour.

 

The butterflies are cut from a sheet of 12x12 paper from Kaiser Craft.

The birds are chipboard  from Collection Elements.. I glittered them with  vintage glass glitter

 

All the ribbon,trim and beaded embellishments are from The Ribbon Girl 

 

Purple Heart.......

....I think Iv'e been hit with the lavender stick and may have to lie down in  a darkened room! Lavender is not a colour I use very often ( twice in a week!) and considering I have a button phobia it's a wonder this project for Scattered Scarlet happened at all!

It's a 6x6 inch canvas... painted with lilac acrylic paint, the edges daubed with Viva Croco in gold.... I was too impatient and dried it with a heat gun... the result.. not much crackle so I wiped some of the still sticky paint off.

I stamped the dotty stamp and embossed it in gold, stuck it to a chipboard heart and stitched buttons onto it. Strips of gold faux mesh tinted with a purple Pro Marker surround the heart. 

The heart is mounted onto an old book page and glued to the canvas...

I'm traumatised now so I'm off for a lie down!

 

Tagged...

..four sheets of Pion papers went missing... cute papers with small people on them... while looking for something else I found them along with a pot of Raspberry glass glitter and some Collection Elements chipboard hearts.........amazing what you find on the floor behind boxes of stuff (Christmas stuff)..so I made some tags..

The Pion papers have lots of little elements and borders to cut out

 

and I just love glass glitter.. it has a very different look to ordinary glitter..

The tags were made from this cardstock...it's too thick for card bases but is fantastic for tags or constructing boxes, shrines or any project that needs something that bit more substantial than normal cardstock.

Open The Box....

and let me out!  Here's another of those little cupboards, a bit different from the last one. The head is made from Paperclay with a stamped image of a face stuck on....

Want some little light bulbs like the one on his head and the top of the box ... then visit you local Pound shop and buy a set of 6 car replacement bulbs... for yes a pound!

The wheels are made from a giant ribbon reel...the drawer front is cut from an old ruler and a bit of bling added.

I may make some more of these....project 648!

Well....

..Christmas has been and gone...and for me it passed in a haze of antibiotics and painkillers! so no lovely festive food or drink( look on the bright side I may have lost a few pounds!) and definately no crafting. This is something I made  a few weeks ago.
 3djean has some cute little cupboards.So loving all things box like....

I added a house shaped roof

Gave the doors some  new handles and took out the shelf.

and some feet.....

 

and one of the odd dolls heads I have hanging about.There's another to follow decorated in an altogether different style

You've Been Framed

.....in the nicest possible way!...with some Pion papers with a little Tando frame, some gems, pins and a sprinkle of glitter.

....some buttons, seam binding..

and a bit of Winter magic...

Shrines.....

..Some people like them others are not so keen...I love them, for me its the richness of the colours and the imagery. They have no specific meaning for me though I know they do for lots of people, I just find them beautiful....so I made a little one of my own.

The stamp is Our Lady of Guadalupe. I covered her with Glossy Accents and when it was dry cracked it.

I wanted to soften the black German Scrap and add a little colour so I sanded it and coloured it with a yellow Promarker then used some Stickles. The wings were bright orange so they got the yellow promarker treatment too.

I love this stamp by The Octopode Factory from 3djean. It's one I use a lot, he's cute but not too cute... in fact he looks like he's about to take a lump out of your ankles!

Little Houses Made Of...

...this paper and these..After birds houses must be one of my favourite images. These are so cute, they're about 8cm tall. they could be decorated in anyway you like but I love this paper.




it's a work of art in itself so if want instant results then this is for you.

and of course nothing is complete without wings!
