.. met on Monday, we decorated canvases, instead of paper, stamps and Mod Podge we used fabrics..this is a brief description of how we did it.... first cover the canvas with a layer of thin lace or tulle, use PVA glue, then add patches of thick lace, glue down..cover everything with gesso..
add extra depth and texture with chipboard shapes.. glue down and gesso.. I used the same brush all the time, next time I think I will make up a mixture of equal parts gesso and glue.
The aim was to get everyhing 'melded' together and create a textured surface.Colour was added with spray inks.. sprayed on and wiped off and extra bits added with a paintbrush. Extra embellishments added when everything was dry. Add the focal point.. I used a Tim Holtz doll... with a crown of course.
I love this bling stuff.. you can get it here..
This one is a work in progress... I wanted a little more colour this time..the flowers were gessoed and inked, layered and stamens stuck in the middle.

Loving both your beautiful canvases Effie, x
they look lush! Very shabby chic.
Beautiful Effie.
beautiful, love the textures and layers! trace x
I really like the more white one...I'm not one for bling but I really quite like those blingy strips. Mind if I nick the all white idea and have a play with it?
LOVE the white one (the other is pretty too but the white really appeals to me). Her crown is fantastic, as is the faux diamante.
Even more fabulous IRL I've even managed to finish mine. Love the colourful one too.
Love it, need to go into my hut and have a play.
oh my goodness it is divine! I love it x
Gorgeous, especially all in white.
Oh these are really beautiful! x
Looks like you had great fun! The subtle colours of the first one make you look harder at the textures - fab effect!
Love the colours on the second canvas. Looking forward to seeing the finished project xx
Thes are so beautiful Effie !!
